First Aid
We want all of our Squeakin' Pups to lead long, healthy lives. With that in mind, we have first aid items available for purchase to our adopters. As part of our rat guarantee, basic medications for URI are available for free for the first two weeks after adoption if your rat becomes symptomatic during that time.
Please note that no one here on staff at Squeakin' Pups is a veterinarian or other medical professional qualified to diagnose your pet, especially if you live far away and we cannot even meet them in person. Any information we give is a best guess based on our own experiences with pet rats, and nothing more. The absolute best thing for any pet owner to do if they believe their pet to be sick is to take them to the vet and get an expert opinion. Veterinarians have trained with many different animals and have much more expertise than we do.
Also, we are offering the first aid type items here as a convenience to pet owners. We do not guarantee they will be effective on anything your pet may have, as we do not know what may actually be afflicting them. Antibiotics, for example, do not work on anything viral. Therefore, if your rat is showing symptoms of a URI, but actually has a virus, they will not show improvement with our URI first aid kit. Giving an incorrect medication can at best do nothing, and at worst make your rat sick or even prove fatal through not getting the proper treatment. This is one of the major reasons seeking a skilled vet is so important!
With all that in mind. Please do your research on the medications beforehand. Being educated on the proper care of your pet is always a good choice. If you are not sure where to start, we are happy to help you with links to websites that have been very helpful to us. Some can be found in our Helpful Links page, as well.
Everything here is possible to obtain at pet stores locally to most persons or by doing an internet search.

Our suggestions are based off of our own rats and experience in using these medications ONLY. We are in no way a medical facility or expert. We have done extensive research and determined these to be the easiest and safest for use in our rattery, however. Your veterinarian may have access to even more effective medications through prescription means. It is ALWAYS better to take your pet to a veterinarian for a professional opinion and treatment.

Shipping
Our First Aid items have a processing time of 3-7 business days (we do not ship on Saturday or Sunday). If you need your order sooner, please let us know at the time of your request and pay for the Priority or One day shipping. We are not always able to ship 1-day, but we will try to expedite as much as possible.
To verify the shipping cost, we will need to confirm the address for shipping and total order first.
Standard Shipping ($7.00 on most orders. )
Our standard shipping has a tracking number, NO insurance, and our standard processing time (5-10 days). This is the most economical shipping method, however we are not responsible for packages lost in the mail when insurance is not paid for on a package. This is the shipping that URI Kits come with. All other items will need to have shipping added to them. We do combine shipping for multiple items.
Priority 2-day shipping ($11 for most orders. Larger orders will be more.)
Priority 2-day shipping includes a tracking number, $50 insurance, and I will expedite the processing of your shipment (1-2 days). You will need to notify us that you need priority shipping before ordering to ensure we are able to expedite your shipping.
Priority 1-day or overnight shipping is calculated on a case-by-case basis from your address.
International Shipping:
I do offer international shipping. The price varies by location and is usually between $35USD-$60USD. Basic international shipping does not come with tracking and is not insured by the post office, but it is usually under $20. I don't recommend it because having the tracking and insurance is better and safer, plus it takes 2+ weeks to arrive. I've seen it take as long as 4 months during busy times. Priority International shipping takes 6-10 days and Priority Express International shipping is 3-5 days. There is also Priority Express International Guaranteed, which arrives in 1-3 days. The price for the Guaranteed Express usually starts at $60+USD.
